Special Needs

Pediatric dentists not only receive specialized training on treating children in residency, but also spend a significant amount of time learning to provide quality care for patients with special healthcare needs. Through her research in both dental school and residency and years of treating pediatric and adult patients with special needs, Dr. Jessie is aware of the challenges parents face in seeking dental treatment for their children and strives to provide compassionate and patient centered care for patients with special needs. Through her medical knowledge and hospital training, she is comfortable in coordinating care with your child’s physicians and other specialists as needed and making referrals as necessary. Dr. Jessie takes the time to work with each patient and family to try to provide dental care without requiring sedation or general anesthesia. If patients do require additional assistance to safely complete needed dental treatment, many times those services can still be provided in our office as well. As long as Dr. Jessie can continue to meet the specific dental needs of her patients with special needs, they are welcome to continue to be seen in our office into adulthood.
